If you are a carnivore who is much too wary to go full on veg, but you are concerned about animal rights, sustainability, and the environment, becoming a flexitarian is an awesome option. You have the ability to reduce your footprint while reaping fabulous health benefits. So, put down your turkey sandwich (LaurenDale), your carne (Frankie Rosado), your gyros (Schmeals and Kafreen), and your McChickens and Big Macs (a certain boyfriend, I won't name names) and check this out :).
Here is a very comprehensive WebMD article that discusses many aspects of Flexitarianism: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/flexitarian-diet
Hopefully I will bombard you all with so many credible articles that you have no logical choice but to become a leaf-muncher like me :). Flexitarianism is definitely a great start. BESITOS!

Psychotropic medication > metaphorical opiates
This interesting article from Psychology Today examines the association between atheism and factors such as educational achievement, socioeconomic status, and governmental structure. The author's study suggests that atheism is positively associated, generally, with quality of life. As expected, a lower quality of life in regard to the factors stated above is associated with religious affiliation. To get a more thorough idea of the study, as I only reviewed the general idea of it, read away!

The article will be published in August, so if you have access to a university library website, you will be able to find it there soon :).

First Real Entry
Hi all!
I'm exhausted, slightly drunk (due to my inability to waste a free drink that everyone refused to finish), and full of bread pudding. This has been a nice Wednesday night. Anyway, let me get to the meat of this post. The chief purposes of this blog are to contain my thoughts in one space that I can refer back to whenever needed, to spread information about current affairs (primarily from independent news sources), and to post funny/enlightening pictures & ramblings to perk you up. It should be a good time :).
Lack of sleep will undoubtedly inhibit my ability to be a functioning human being tomorrow morning, let alone find something to post.
Meow. Night.
